Each student will not only learn about climate issues and connect with college students but will become filmmakers as well. Additionally, students will make contact with college students already involved in the climate movement and have the opportunity to connect with students nationwide.
Youth across the country are already taking the lead in their communities to combat climate change. Nationally hundreds of colleges are joining in a nationwide campaign to make a real difference on the climate front. Colleges are increasingly in the forefront of this national effort.
Don’t worry! In Climate Quest, you will learn from college professors who are experts in their field, college students already working on climate change solutions on their campuses, and from local policy makers and business leaders. On top of that, you will learn how to use video-reporting to tell stories about how climate change affects your lives, your favorite places, and your community.
You do not need to have any experience using video cameras or creating movies to take this class. If you do have video experience, your skills will be an asset and your professors will help you to further develop your skills.
Pretty much any high school student entering Junior or Senior year in high school.
